OPD Patient Testimonials

I had visited the Physiotherapy OPD at Fergusson College to seek treatment for ????? have been quite satisfied with treatment given to me by Dr. Namrata (PT) and her team of interns Radhika Joshi, Sanhita Purnaparte, Rutuja Joshi, Anisha Nagarkar, Vidhi Somani, Hetal Paghdar, Durga Kulkarni, Rasika Bhide, Rasika Bakare and Nidhi Pande.

I come regularly for physiotherapy to this clinic and the above doctors have been kind and helpful to me. They explain the entire process to me in details and have been treating me with constant care. I feel better and recovered almost 80% now as the treatment given to me is good. I never had to wait or have been treated arrogantly by any of these doctors or any other staff and feel good about the same. I would surely recommend this hospital/clinic to more of my friends or relatives for physiotherapy.

We got the reference regarding physiotherapy OPD at DESCOP from Harshit’s mother. Harshit has been a patient of this department for a few years now. Arjun’s father and brother approached the college with all his reports to fix an appointment for Arjun. Dr. Atiya Shaikh took a note of all the medical details, right from pre-natal history till date. She asked them to get Arjun along the very next day. Dr. Atiya always considers parents’ opinions and suggestions while planning exercise activities and rehabilitation for pediatric patients. This is one of her qualities I like the most. As curious parents, we were looking forward to learn all the details regarding Arjun’s condition and his rehabilitation programme, both negative and positive. She explained everything and clarified all our doubts in a non-medico language, we could easily comprehend.

Soon students began to treat Arjun. Initially, it took him a while to get used to the environment and their handling. But, gradually he started enjoying their company and hence, the session. They simplified exercises and tasks for him and incorporated a variety of games to make sure that Arjun enjoyed the session. They were very friendly and took good care of Arjun. When I gave students any suggestions regarding Arjun’s treatment, they consulted their faculty and modified the treatment accordingly, as required. I never felt neglected.

During exams and Preparatory leave of students, students of Masters programme particularly, Sonali, Meenakshi and Vishakha managed to handle him independently without any help from other students and treated him very well. It was a great experience with all the members of DESBJCOP and their treatment has helped us a lot. I am thankful to all of them and would like to wish them all the best for their future. Keep it up all of you!

I was suffering from severe pain after a fall on my outstretched arm initially I did not realize the intensity of the injury and continued to lift heavy objects which is my routine at the gym which only aggravated my injury. I started having popping, clicking in the shoulder and pain with over head arm movements or throwing a ball and a feeling of weakness or instability in the shoulder.

I, hence, decided to visit an orthopaedic surgeon who recommended me MRI which confirmed that I had an antero inferior glenoid labrum tear of the right shoulder. And he suggested surgery, however I believed that surgery is the last option and started to search on internet about this and understood how physiotherapy could help. I stumbled on the Facebook page of Fergusson College of physiotherapy by chance and just walked in after.

I was assessed immediately by the interns and they comforted me by telling me that the injury will heal and I will be able to perform full range of motion with my shoulder. This brought a smile to my face and I was relieved about not undergoing a surgery. With specific treatments given to me, my pain reduced from 10 to just 5, which is bearable and I have almost reached my range, only the last part remaining.

I will want to specially thank the interns Rasika Bhide, Rasika Bakare and Nidhi Pande for their treatment. The environment of the physiotherapy OPD was professional yet friendly and put me at ease with my condition. I want to thank Fergusson College for these inspiring physiotherapists.

I am a lecturer in a local college in Pune. Around 3 years back, I noticed that I was unable to write properly on the blackboard. Within 6 months, I was having difficulties with almost all tasks and was finding it almost impossible to continue my job.

I consulted many senior doctors and it was found that my small brain (cerebellum???) was atrophying. A friend suggested that I should undergo neuro-physiotherapy and gave me DESBJCOP’s reference.

I have been coming for therapy for the past 2 months now, which has been very advantageous for me. I am already finding that many of my physical activities are getting restored. The students, under the guidance of Dr. Snehal Joshi, are monitoring my movements and helping me perform them in a better way. I feel more confident after taking this treatment and I am sure that, given time, my activities will come back to normal.

I wish the best for the students and staff of this college and must thank all of you for providing such wonderful services to needy patients like me.

I, Dr. Devidas Jadhav, age 75 years, retired as head coach of Indian volleyball team for 20years and I am currently coaching at Deccan Gymkhana. I started having shoulder pain since about a year which I neglected thinking it was because of my age.  But it increased greatly 2 months back & I wasn’t even able to take my hand above shoulder level.

On insistence of my student Gargi Sonawane, I consulted with Dr. Mrs. Namrata Bhadbhade madam at the college OPD. She assessed me thoroughly and prescribed exercises which I performed at home. I came to OPD everyday for treatment.  Her plan of treatment was really helpful and I was able to resume my coaching. The interns and students in the OPD were also very cooperative.

Thank you ma’am.
